Summer is when most of my family has birthdays, so one of my cousins threw a joint birthday pool party. The cousin who had the party was much older than me and had 3 daughters, one of which is 3 weeks older than me. She was married to a born-again Christian. and they had 3 kids. My sons were playing in the pool and I went into the house to change into my bathing suit. It was the 80s, so the leg holes were a little high, but not so high that anything was exposed. It was a pink suit with black dots and sash. The back came to well-above my butt (middle back). It was fully lined, but since I’m not very “endowed”, it didn’t have a built in bra….just a “shelf bra”. As I was coming out of the house, I ran into my cousin’s (the one who is my age) husband. He blocked my way going down the stairs and wouldn’t let me pass to go to the yard. I had no idea what he was doing until he said, “Do you really think that the bathing suit is appropriate to wear at a gathering where there are young children present?” I thought he was kidding. He was not. He continued to block my way saying that I wasn’t going to the pool wearing that “whore outfit”. I said, “It’s a one-piece suit! WTF is wrong with you?” He said, “You aren’t wearing a bra.”
