Roy Evans Wearing Scouse Steel Workers Scouse Republic Shirt .besteestores On the weekends, I woke up to watch the Saturday morning cartoons, like Bugs Bunny, and School House Rock. Then, outside I went, and didn’t come home until the street lights came on. My friends and I would go down to the creek to catch snapping turtles, minnows, and speckled mollies. What fun! We would trace each others’ shadows on the black top roads, in various positions, and we created very elaborate bikes mazes, with colored chalk, on the road, and played stop and go. We played hopscotch, hide and seek, and climbed to the tops of very high trees. We often fell out of those trees, having the wind knocked out of us, but we never broke any bones! Wherever I went, my constant companion was my German Shepherd, Chi-Chi. She was my life and my love!

Roy Evans Wearing Scouse Steel Workers Scouse Republic Shirt .besteestores We would wander the forest, catching caterpillars, spiders and snakes. We rescued birds that became entangled in the wet plant life down by the creek. We climbed trees together, and relaxed on large branches. YES! My dog LOVED to climb trees with me. The roadsides would explode with wildflowers in the Springtime. The colors were so vibrant, so vivid, so enchanting! I would gather large bunches to take home to my mom. Wild sugar cane grew on the edge of the forest, and we would cut off large pieces to chew on. I would find doodlebugs in the sand, and feed them ants. Amazing creatures! When alone, I spent a lot of time, laying out in the backyard, or in the open field down the road, cloud gazing, watching the wind blow through the grass, listening to the whistling sound it created, imagining that it was fairies, whispering to me.
